Happy Holidays

I know it's a little late, but I thought that I had better post pictures of the boys on Christmas and New Years. Both Kayson and Kayle really got into the holidays this year, and with the bad weather, we were able to stay home, relax and enjoy them.

Christmas did get off to a rocky start when I discovered that the battery in my camera was bad. Needless to say I didn't get any pictures of the boys opening their presents here at home. Grandma Klinker did come to the rescue later in the day by taking pictures of them over at her house opening the presents from her. Kayson, as always, got excited about each and every gift. We would have to stop him from playing with the opened gifts, and convince him to open the rest. Kayle on the other hand just enjoyed opening the gifts. He really didn't care what it was, just as long as he could tear paper off of it. It's so cute seeing their different personalities!

Kayson's favorite gift was his Star Wars Legos XBox 360 game. He played it all day, and for days after, all he could talk about was all the different charactors and what they do, and what is in each level. Suprisingly, he is extremely good at it. In fact, I've never been to shabby at video games (although I'm not very interested in playing them.), and whenever I would sit down and play with him, he would have to tell me what to do. I finally stopped playing when he kept taking my controller, and playing for me!

Kayle's favorite gift was a toss up between the Race Cars blanket that grandma made him, and the Connect 4 game. He loves having Reece and I play Connect 4 with him (his rules of course!). He was also very fond of the new snow boots and gloves he received. He loves playing in the snow, which with the way the weather has been this year, has worked out well for him. I have however lost the battle on getting him to wear his gloves, and ONLY his gloves. He has to have one of his, and either one of mine or one of Kayson's. Normally I wouldn't care, but he's very good at loosing things.

The boys have had a lot of opportunities to play in the snow this year, which has been really fun. I took them out one day and pulled their sleds with the snowmobile. Kayson had a blast with that. Kayle was more interested in riding on the snowmobile with me than riding on the sled.

A couple days later I took Kayson, Kayle and Jaden (Sasha's youngest) out to the back yard to sled down the huge snow drift that had developed back there. At that point, the drift was almost as tall as the garage! The boys had a blast.

I have had the boys out on that snow drift quite a few times since then, and with the way the wind blows around here, the drift has a new design every time. In fact, we noticed that the snow drift actually extended past the hedges, and wrapped completely around the back and side of the garage. Since the snow was so packed and hard, Reece thought it would be fun to take the boys out to build a tunnel in it. He dug the tunnel, built some steps, and even gave them a nice path to sled down the drift on. They are pretty sure they have the coolest dad.

Last night Kayson also had the opportunity to attend his first rodeo. He was so facinated with everything that was going on. He had a million questions. The hardest thing for him to grasp was why the horses and bulls were being mean, and not listening to the guys. His favorite thing was the clown. He sure got a kick out of him. After the rodeo, Kayson was pretty sure he wanted to do that, and asked if he could get some movies on rodeos. It was so cute.
