Yesterday morning, we woke up to a very rude awakening. It was blizzarding outside with wind blowing around 30-40mph, snow, and windchill's around -40. To top it off, our power had gone out! Being told that most of the surrounding area was out of power, we assumed that we would just have to bundle up for awhile, and hope we would have power soon. Kayle of course was up by 6, and crazy busy as ever. We kept telling him to lay down in mommy & daddy's bed, and keep the covers on. He would sit still for about 2 minutes, and off the covers would come! I'm not sure what we were thinking when we thought that Kayle would sit still for awhile. (I guess we shouldn't be trying to think that early, especially when it's 40 degrees in our house.) Anyway, we found out that most of our neighbors, including Marge and Marvin across the road had power, so Reece decided to investigate what our outage was caused from (he used to be a power lineman). After about 1 hour of driving around, the power was back on.
We spent the day being lazy, well the boys and I did anyway. Reece was running from house to house, unthawing pipes and wells to the rental houses, and fixing power outlets.
In the evening, the boys and I thought that it would be fun to have a little campout in the livingroom (it's the warmest room in the house, not to mention, it has a pretty christmas tree!)
We even had s'mores (well pop-tart s'mores), and watched some christmas shows, and slept in our sleeping bags. The boys were so excited. Kayson begged me all day today to let him campout again tonight. (I suppose I can let them enjoy this for awhile. It's supposed to be -20 degrees outside for the next couple of days.)
